Chris Froome will make his return to action for Team Sky at the USA Pro Challenge in Colorado between 19-25 August.
Froome kept himself busy in the immediate aftermath of last month’s Tour de France success by riding a series of criterium races in Holland and Belgium, and is now enjoying a period of rest and recuperation before jetting across the Atlantic to take part in one of America’s highest-profile races.
The 28 year old heads a strong line up as Team Sky make their debut appearance in the Challenge, and he will be joined by American riders Ian Boswell, Joe Dombrowski and Danny Pate, as well as his Tour de France team-mates Peter Kennaugh, Richie Porte and Kanstantsin Siutsou. Josh Edmondson rounds out a formidable eight-man squad.
Boswell and Dombrowski will hone their condition for their American homecoming by competing at the Vuelta a Burgos between 7-11 August. Dario Cataldo, Christian Knees, Salvatore Puccio, Luke Rowe and Xabier Zandio will be joining the duo for the trip to Spain, as will Vasil Kiryienka, who has not ridden competitively since his withdrawal on ninth stage of the Tour de France.
Sir Bradley Wiggins will step up his preparations for the World Championships time trial by riding the Eneco Tour between 12-18 August, and will be buoyed by the progress he’s made in his comeback race at the Tour de Pologne.
Wiggins will have Tour de France riders David Lopez and Ian Stannard for company in Holland, as well as Bernhard Eisel, Mathew Hayman, Gabriel Rasch, Chris Sutton and current Tour de Pologne team-mate Ben Swift.
All our squads for the first half of August can be found HERE, and keep an eye out in the next few weeks as we announce our squad for the Vuelta a Espana.
