Sutton notched Team Sky's first ProTour victory in style when he and Greg Henderson bagged a one-two in the final stage of the Tour Down Under in Adelaide.

Just as it had seven days earlier in the Cancer Council Helpline Classic, the team's lead-out train worked to perfection, with all the riders playing their part.

Sutton said: "We spoke about our team tactics at the meeting beforehand and that's our biggest thing, it's all about teamwork.

"We took control around two kilometres to go and we just had the perfect lead-out.

"Obviously I'm the last man to lead out Greg and I led off Ben Swift who accelerated a lot. If Hendy comes round me, he comes round me but I just held on. We went one-two which is incredible."

Sutton had delivered Henderson to the line in the curtain-raiser to the main event a week earlier and once again it was the team's finishing kick which strung out their rivals.

All aboard the Sky train

"All the boys played their part," added Sutton. "I just kicked and went as long as I could.

"It's not just my effort - it's Mat Hayman, Davide Viganò, Chris Froome, Ben Swift, Russell Downing and obviously Hendy.

"We're a new team and everyone is working well together already. It's all about learning each other's strengths and weaknesses.

"Greg said it at the start of the week but I think we have one of the fastest [lead-out] trains. We've had a week of ups and downs but it's all about learning."

The victory was extra special for Aussie Sutton as his family were there to watch him sprint to victory.

"I just went to see my old man at the top of the hill and my sister said he nearly had a heart attack so I hope he's alright," laughed Sutton.
