Team Sky - powered by SRM

SRM, the gold standard of power measurement, is proud to be an official partner of Sky Pro Cycling.

Training with power has changed the face of professional cycling training dramatically in the last two decades. With the development of the first power meter by Uli Schoberer, German engineer and founder of SRM, performance and training on the bicycle could at last be documented scientifically.

The cooperation with British Cycling as one of the first and best partners of SRM was a huge step to success for both.

In 1996, Peter Keen initiated the incredibly successful British Cycling program, and he was followed by David Brailsford in 2003. Brailsford is now Team Sky's Team Principal. Athletes like Chris Boardman and many other British track and road cyclists were tested on SRM Ergometers and used SRM Training Systems as an important tool in their development to world class cyclists.

"When David Brailsford called me and asked 'Are you willing to supply our team with SRM PowerMeters and PowerControls?' There was only one answer; of course we will," said Uli Schoberer.

"We need the feedback from our dealers, pro teams, athletes and sport scientists to continually update and improve our products.

"Pro teams are the best source of expertise, because they use and abuse the SRM System harder than anyone else. Team Sky, with its world class athletes and highly knowledgeable staff, are a perfect partner for us."

Team Sky ride with the SRM PowerMeter DuraAce 7900 compatible and the brand new Sky-blue PowerControl 7 in training and competition. Athletes and coaches will be provided with information to develop, implement and monitor training programs, competition strategies and improve performance.

The SRM Training System measures and displays real time power, cadence, speed, distance, time, heart rate, altitude, mechanical energy, training zones and temperature with reliability and accuracy that is unmatched in the cycling industry - CLICK HERE for full details.
