Elite

A leader in the world of Home Training for over 30 years, Elite will be alongside the team during preparation as well as on the roads of the races in the World Tour also this season

To ensure the best possible performance, every component must be carefully designed and developed in order to be up to expectations and continue to evolve to meet the requirements of the top teams, abreast of the quest for ever higher limits.

Elite addresses these needs by making available to the Sky Pro Cycling Team new products that get better and better in every detail from season to season. Which is why the black and blue bikes are fitted with the new Sior Evo bottle cage, made entirely of carbon fibre with an elastic core in AISI302: the combination of these technical materials ensures optimum durability as well as easy insertion and removal of the bottle, preventing it from coming out accidentally on any type of terrain. Easy use and guaranteed hold during the race are considered all-important features by the technicians. In fact, thanks to its innovative elastic frontal structure (A.R.S. Technology) the Sior Evo allows high deformation during use, thereby making things much easier for athletes.

Going “behind the scenes”, we find another Elite product which is also all-important for the team’s preparation and pre-race warm-up, i.e. the SuperCrono Powermag Roller, that perfectly meets the needs of a top team on the road for many months of the year.

The story of Elite

The story of Elite is made of successes and new discoveries which always start from the work of engineers, technicians, market men, cycling enthusiasts and also insight.

The Elite company is located in an old nineteenth-century brickworks in Fontaniva, a small town 60 km from Venice. From manual work to engineering, the passion and the sacrifice are the same, and the aim is always to create new products for cyclists worldwide.

All the new products launched on the market are the result of internal research and there are now about three hundred. These products are tested by world’s most important professional teams. In fact, the Pro Teams sponsored by the Fontaniva firm have won the Tour de France, Tour of Italy, World Championships and many world cycling races, and have accompanied the victories of riders such as Miguel Indurain, Marco Pantani, Ivan Basso, Mark Cavendish, Cadel Evans and many other champions. Elite currently sponsors more than half of the world’s professional teams.

Established in 1979, Elite began its adventure with the design and manufacture of training rollers and bicycle carriers for cars.

Elite immediately stood out for its marked tendency to export. To date, the marketing of Elite products is mainly abroad, and not only Europe: the United States and Asia are key markets for the Elite brand.

Bottle cages

In the early 90's Elite began its specialisation in the design of bottle cages. 1992 was the year of the Ciussi, a bottle cage still in production after 20 years, with more than 10 million pieces produced. The archetypes of Elite bottle cage design include the Patao, which introduced a new way of conceiving the bottle cage, and the Custom Race, that continues to offer great satisfaction to the many cyclists who win the big races in world cycling.

Bottles and thermos bottles

Another important research area for Elite is that of bottles and thermos bottles. Most professional cyclists in the world drink from our bottles, and this makes us very proud. In the mid-90’s Elite started marketing thermos bottles, which led to the creation of bottles with unsurpassed thermal qualities and the use of Aerogel® for the thermal insulation.

Training rollers

The new millennium began with an absolute novelty: Axiom, the training roller for connecting to a PC and using specific algorithms, enabling training in an increasingly interactive and professional way.

Four years later it was the turn of Realaxiom, a roller combining the specific calculations of Axiom with videos of the world’s most famous races filmed directly on the road. It was a turning point in the world of cycle training. Four more years were to pass and another revolution was accomplished with Realpower, the only roller in the world able to simulate slopes of 20%. In 2011 another new Elite roller joined the range: the Forte, equipped with a digital wireless console allowing ad hoc training according to the rider’s needs and performance level.

Elite continues its ride toward innovation by designing and producing about a dozen new products every year. Training rollers, bottle cages and bottles, new software, products and services that help cyclists fully enjoy the sport they love.

The work is like a bicycle ride. It is only by continuing to ride, pushing hard uphill and enjoying the descent, that allows us to go ahead with ever greater satisfaction.

This is our creed. Ride with us.
