Bradley Wiggins could not have won the Tour de France without the selfless support of his team-mates, and here they share their thoughts on what proved to be a massively memorable day in Paris.
Chris Froome:
Getting onto the Champs Elysees and hearing the eruption from the crowd as we came through the first tunnel sent chills right through me. It hasn’t sunk in yet what we have achieved here. Winning the stage with Cav was just the icing on the cake after three weeks of amazing, amazing racing.
I’m going to go on to the Olympics now, and then the Vuelta a Espana if all goes well, and we’ll see how the legs are there.
I’d love to come back to the Tour one day and keep this whole thing with Team Sky going. We’re going to try and ride for the GC every year and whoever it is carrying the yellow jersey knows the team is going to be right there for them. We’ll be back 100%.
Standing next to Bradley on the podium has only inspired me. It’s was quite an emotional day.
Michael Rogers:
It’s an amazing feeling to know what we've achieved. We really wanted to win that final stage. We’d already had a successful Tour but we went full gas again. Bradley pulled to the last kilometre and then Edvald took things over before Mark finished it off.
That was an amazing Tour that just got better as it went on. We’re really, really happy.
The ambience in the team has been amazing. We’ve worked so hard for this and been working towards this Tour since November. It’s been hard and we’ve spent a lot of time away from our loved ones and families. I’ve spent more time this year with my room-mate than I have with my wife, but it’s moments like this that you remember for the rest of your life.
I’ve got the Olympic Games coming up now and also the World Championships at the end of the year so I've still got plenty of racing to go.
