One of the toughest and most reliable workers in the pro peloton, Kanstantsin Siutsou is as strong on the climbs as he is on the flat. A multiple Belarusian national champion in both the time trial and on the road, the rider affectionately known as ‘Kosta’ has proved he is able to capture big results in his own right as well as for his team.

An under-23 world champion with a stage win and a top-10 finish at the Giro d’Italia on his palmares, Siutsou played an integral role leading up to the Tour de France in 2012, making the nine-man Tour squad in his first season with the team. Unfortunately Siutsou broke his leg on the third stage in France but a winter of recuperation should put him in a position to chase more success this season.

Who inspired you to start cycling?
A coach came into my school and when I first tried it, I couldn't stop.

What do you love most about cycling?
When you ride six hours a day, every day, you have to love cycling. I love everything about the sport.
What has cycling taught you?
It's taught me how to read a race. You learn which attacks to follow, how to chase down breaks, and many other tactical nuances.

Highlight of your career:
The first three days of the Tour de France last year. Everyone was incredibly motivated and focused on one goal - to win the race.
If you weren't a rider, what would you be?
I have no idea.

Speed, or anything with fast cars.
Favourite music:
I listen to everything.
Best friend in the peloton:
Everyone at Team Sky.
Funniest team-mate:
Bradley, Richie and Bernie the most, but there are quite a few funny guys on the team.
Favourite food:
When Soren, the team chef, is cooking I'll eat anything.
Most famous person you've met:
In cycling you get to see a lot of famous people.
Most embarrassing moment:
Whenever a race photographer is in front of me.
Best advice:
Learn from your successes, and your failures.
