As Team Sky’s Head of Technical Operations, it is Carsten Jeppesen’s job to make sure the team have the best possible tools with which to do their job; whether it's the bikes they ride, the bus they travel in, or even the beds they sleep in.
The Dane works closely with the Team Sky’s partners to make sure the squad are as impressive off the bike as they are on it.
He says: “If you look at the whole package then I think Team Sky is the number one team in the world, both on the road and in terms of the equipment we make available to our riders.
“Still, there are always areas where we can try and do a better job, and we will always seek to do that.”
Consistently looking to develop, Jeppesen has overseen several technological advancements for the 2013 season hopes they will help Team Sky build on an already successful formula.
“The team’s equipment will be the best it’s ever been going into our fourth season,” he adds. “We have worked closely with our partners over the last 12 months to ensure the products they provide us with are at the cutting edge of the sport.
“I’m looking forward to seeing those products in action and I’m delighted to welcome Rapha into the Team Sky fold. Like all our partners, they share our quest for excellence and are dedicated to helping our riders win.”
