Stage 13

Last updated: 30th June 2010

Saturday 17 July: Rodez to Revel - 196km

A breakaway looks odds-on to succeed today if the history books are anything to go by. There has never been a sprint finish in Revel and the narrow roads and lumpy terrain which come late in the day will favour the attackers again this time around.

The Tour de France is not known for its circuit finishes, but a 12km loop to the south of Revel has been included here, and any kicks on the short, sharp Côte de Saint-Ferréol (1.9km at 6% - category 3) which comes 7.5km from the line could well prove decisive.

The main contenders meanwhile should be safely encased in the heart of the peloton, saving themselves for the imminent battle in the Pyrenees.
